You’re probably saying something like “finally”, so are we.

We’ve added some much asked for improvements to Statlr. The first and biggest being full stat support for both Digg and Flickr. We’ve also added some minor additions in the form of a cool about page, enhanced navigation flow, and removing the Help widget tab that got in some peoples way.

We’re also hard at work on adding a couple other sites (trust me you’ll be psyched) and some super awesome profile pages! We’ll keep you updated as they should be coming along shortly. Thanks for sticking with us and for using Statlr!

Are you also considering adding support for smaller apps and sites? I know of a Dutch social network called Hyves. It's very popular over here and it has an OAuth API.

API docs are in English, and the API allows you to retrieve 'scraps count' (public messages, e.g. wall), 'respects count' (public messages related to photos) and 'views count' and 'friends count' in one request.

Thanks for the heads up. Right now we are focusing on American sites only, and plan to add more in the future. As we grow we’ll start to consider foreign sites, but we appreciate the interest.

We are totally working on it. Currently the API doesn’t provide the data we need, and other stat sites that support Tumblr are using a method that could very well get them banned from the API. We obviously want to abide by the rules, so we have to wait until we can get the info we need from the API. But some promising info came about today which may help us.

But look forward to both Tumblr and Flickr in the very near future.

Using color on Statlr

Statlr is a simplistic site by design, so finding a way to make it pop without making it too overpowering was difficult. Because of the large amount of screen real-estate the color bars had to take up, the colors had to work together, be eye catching, not too bright, and not too weak.

For this I turned to Colourlovers, a community based site that allows users to submit, rate, and search for thousands of color palettes, and an endless amount of colors. Using their palette creator, I was able to form Statlr’s final color scheme which you can view below. So hat’s off to Colourlovers, one of my favorite sites to visit when designing just about anything!

Logged in users can share stats!

Now when you log in, you’ll see a button in the upper left corner of the username box on any stat page. This will allow you to share stats from that page with Facebook, Twitter, and Digg.

We’re also open to any services you think we should add!
